The developers behind the Gears of War franchise have just unleashed the Gears of War 4 launch trailer ahead of the October 11th release of the game. Featuring a cover of Metalica’s song Nothing Else Matters, the trailer is narrated by John DiMaggio, otherwise known as the voice of Marcus Fenix.

The trailer also reveals some details of the single-player mode of the game, which is described as follows:

25 years ago, Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad made Sera safe for tomorrow’s generation. His son JD has lived with that peace, until now. A new threat called the Swarm has emerged and now JD, along with his friends Del and Kait, must fight together and survive the night.

If you happen to be watching Monday Night football tonight on ESPN you might come across the trailer around 8:50 ET or 5:30 PT. Gears of War 4 launches on October 11th and will mark the debut of Cross Platform gaming for the Gears of War franchise. As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, you will also be able to play on both Xbox One and Windows 10, and save your progress, achievements, and gamerscores through the power of Xbox Live.
