FUNimation finally launches their anime streaming app on Xbox One

Fans of Japanese animation in North America have just been given one more option for viewing anime on their Xbox One with the launch of the official FUNimation app earlier today. The app provides access to FUNimation’s video streaming service that features popular anime series like One Piece, Fairy Tail and Free! Eternal Summer and is available in three models; Free Pass, Sub-Pass and All Access Pass.

The FUNimation Free Pass offers a limited range of titles in standard definition with video ads while the Sub Pass provides a wider selection of anime titles to choose from in both 1080p and 720p resolutions and also removes the ads. The more expensive of the plans, All Access Pass, features the entire library of FUNimation streaming titles in HD and also offers access to extra video features, broadcast versions of episodes and special bonus FUNimation store promotions.

The FUNimation app is available for free download in the App section of the Store on Xbox One consoles right now and joins rival anime streaming service, Crunchyroll, who launched their Xbox One app earlier in 2015. Several anime titles are also available for streaming on the Xbox One’s Netflix app and for purchase via Xbox Video as well.
