Windows 10 Redstone build 14251 released to fast ring Insiders

Zac Bowden

Another week, another new Windows 10 Redstone build to play with. This week, Microsoft is dropping build 14251, which much like the last couple of builds include no major new features or functionality and is still improving in OneCore subsystem. The update is rolling out right now to Insiders on the fast ring, so start checking for updates!

Build 14251 is the first build compiled after the jump from build 11107, and because of this many people were expecting build 14251 to include a wide array of new features. Unfortunately, that’s not how build jumps work. Build jumps very rarely indicate new features, but are more internal development milestones for engineers. It’s likely that there were more changes from build 11106 to 11107 than 11107 to 14251.

Fear not however, Microsoft will soon start compiling new features into the main development branch for Insiders to start testing, so it shouldn’t be long before we’ve got new things to play with in the latest builds of Windows 10 Redstone. In the meantime however, are you planning to download this release? Let us know below.
