Trade in your MacBook for a Surface and the Microsoft Store will give you up to $650

The 2-in-1 war continues between Microsoft and Apple. As of today, the Redmond giant is providing a new incentive for consumers to trade in their old MacBook devices for up to $650 off of their own Surface line. According to the trade-in page, you can send in almost any type of MacBook Air or MacBook Pro of varying value to receive the discount.

The deal is only available for retail and online stores in the United States (also including Puerto Rico). After selecting your device from the online store page (or taking in your MacBook to the brick and mortar shop) you will be eligible to purchase a Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book with a significant cut of the original price tag.

Here are the qualifications for your MacBook devices:

  • Must be fully functional
  • Battery must hold charge and not be required to be plugged in to operate
  • Must not have any damaged, broken, or missing components
  • Cannot have been modified and warranty seal must be intact
  • Cannot be password protected
  • Must come with original chargers and accessories

If you’ve been looking for that extra nudge to push you towards dropping your MacBook for a Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book, this might be the time to do it. The incentive is only lasting until November 7, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. PST or until they run out of Surface stock. Otherwise, once you receive a redemption code, it will be valid until Dember 15, 2016.
