Microsoft Edge will allow users to sync passwords, bookmarks and more

Formerly known as Project Spartan, Microsoft Edge was unveiled last week at Build in San Francisco. It’s Microsoft’s latest attempt in the browsers market to compete against Google Chrome and Firefox. The new browser is set to ship with Windows 10 later this year, but it’s still in its early stages so you may come across bugs and issues — you can check the latest set of issues and change log at Edge’s website here. The browser was released with the latest Windows 10 build 10074.

During a recent Twitter Q&A session, Microsoft confirmed that Edge will come with the ability to sync passwords, tabs, bookmarks and more. Unfortunately, the company didn’t say when it will come, but said it’s inbound in a future update.

It would be stupid if this feature was not present in the browser as it’s one of the basic ones, which are present in Google Chrome and Firefox. Users tend to have more than one devices so a syncing feature would allow users to get their content and other browser data on multiple devices they have access to.
