Last year, Microsoft announced that it will bring its real-time strategy game franchise, Age of Empires to iOS, Android, and Windows Phone operating systems. Today, it has been confirmed that the popular game will indeed arrive on Windows Phone, as well as other mobile platforms. The new title, Age of Empires: World Domination, will hit stores sometime this summer.
The game features world leaders and historical characters. “Age of Empires: World Domination expands the award-winning Age of Empires series by building an intuitive, yet deep, mobile strategy game. In the game, players create an empire by commanding all-time favorite heroes and civilizations. Players will also experience intense battles that allow them to deploy advanced tactics with simple and intuitive touch gestures,” as described by Japan-based developer KLab.
At first it was believed that the mobile counterpart will just be a ported version of Age of Empire Online, but evidently a whole new plot and title have been introduced. As of now, we are not sure if the game will be available for free or will require cash. The title has a website and an action-packed trailer to lure in fans.
